About

I started this blog in October 2007, after I began to take an interest in what was going on in the sky around my home near Hadleigh in Suffolk, UK. I joined the Cloud Appreciation Society (I'm member No. 2812 of over 23,000 members), bought some cloud-spotters' books, and started pointing my camera upwards. My son now describes me as a "cloud geek"; I've never been a geek before, and I quite like it. When I show people photos of optical effects like parhelias or circumzenithal arcs (which sound very impressive), they often say, "I've never seen one of those before". That's because they don't look up. Try it, but be careful not to bump into anything.
