Mist and moon

It was foggy this morning. There'll be more tonight, so it'll probably be misty tomorrow morning. Pale sunlight looking across the misty fields this afternoon, and a clear sky at moonrise.

Hiding the moon

As it got dark, the moon shone brightly for a little while, with just a few wisps of cumulus fractus above. Within half an hour or so, a thin layer of stratocumulus covered the sky and partially obscured it for minutes at a time. It's not as cold as last night but the weather forecast is an 80% probability of freezing conditions tonight.

Mid-afternoon, and more blue sky with just a thin trace of cirrus so you could hardly see the moon, but it's there. Please let it rain soon!

When I opened the curtains this morning there were clouds like surf on a beach. By the time I'd found a camera, this was all that was left.

Only the moon in the late afternoon...

A clear cold sky

In the morning there were lots of contrails but as the day warmed up they soon evaporated, like this one. It was only when I looked closer at the shot that I noticed the moon is in the picture, though it's very faint. Follow the line of the contrail to the left and it's just over half-way up the photo.
