The birds are depressed

Today's weather forecast was "The day will be dull and overcast across the region with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, and with mist and patchy fog becoming extensive by evening. Maximum Temperature 10C." Can barely see across the field in front of the house. It's very quiet - no birds singing. A pigeon perched in a tree seemed to be waiting for something to happen. Nothing did.

November sunrise

I'm not usually up this early. Look what I've been missing.

Monday 24 November 2014

Pink and blue

Pink-tinted streaks of stratocumulus and contrails at sunset. It's going to be cold tonight - good for star-gazing.

Sunday 9 November 2014

Cloud cap

Changeable weather, as forecast, with sunshine and showers. There was a slight cap, or pileus, on this bright cumulus cloud. It came and went quickly, as they do.

The pileus is the thin veil shown by the arrows.

November begins with this

I sat outside for quite a while before sunset, watching lots of cumulus fractus scudding across the sky. It was warm - all I need was a shawl.
